Questions about training done by the Code Development section.

Format: Should we use a digital format? If our audience includes civic associations, area commissions, engineers and architects, contractors, employees and aliens, then materials kept in this format will enable a consistent presentation while providing ease of amendment. The format can offer training lessons designed for live presentations, web pages and self-taught modules for new and existing employees.

Level of understanding: How many different levels of presentation will the section prepare? Several different levels of presentation may be needed to address the group needs. Will the proposed training materials be linked with Division policy, Zoning Official policy statements, BZA interpretations, Court and City Attorney opinions, office policy, and common practice. While these documents and other relevant materials exist and are used to resolve difficult questions of interpretation, they have never been assembled in a usable format for reference or easy access.

Participation: Will administrative and supervisory staff be available to present prepared training materials. Should supervisors be presenting these matters to employees as part of their responsibilities?

Proficiency: Will the section prepare exams testing employees' knowledge of materials? Has this division ever prepared training materials and tested employees. Are the Code Enforcement personnel trained in this manner using the Procedures manual? Is this consistent with the Labor contract?

Fees: Are we preparing lessons for a fee? Only for specific areas.....and what are they?
